Vermont
SportsCar has been in operation since 1988 and is
the creation of company President and CEO, Lance Smith.
Located just off I-89 in Colchester, VT., the business
is housed in a 5,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility
offering a variety of automotive services including rally
car construction and preparation from the ground up, off-site
rally team service, rally car rentals, vintage and classic
car restoration services as well as daily automotive service.
With the primary focus of Vermont SportsCar being the
construction, service, sale and rental of rally vehicles
throughout North America, the company has carved a very
successful niche for itself within the competitive world
of professional motorsports.
Since
opening the doors eleven years ago, Vermont SportsCar
has manufactured a number of championship winning rally
cars for the United States, Canadian and Mexican rally
championships. Included in this long list of championship
winning marques are Subarus, Mitsubishis, Eagles, Toyotas
and Volkswagens, many of which are still being driven
in performance rallies today. Vermont SportsCar prepared
vehicles have been driven to many victories over the years
by a number of notable rally drivers, including 11-time
United States National PRO Rally Champion John Buffum.
Most recently, Buffum drove a Vermont SportsCar prepared
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V to a twenty-two second victory
over current Canadian and North American Rally Cup Champion
Frank Sprongl who was driving a 420hp Audi Quattro in
the Rallye Auto Charlevoix. The rally was held just north
of Quebec city November 3rd-5th, 1999. Sprongl had been
undefeated in his Audi during the first six Canadian 1999
rallies until this event!
