Rising through the ranks:
After spending many years conquering ClubRallies with only a limited budget, Lauchlin O'Sullivan burst into the ProRally Championship in 2002 with a dominating performance in his nearly stock two-wheel drive Mitsubishi Lancer. O'Sullivan won the Group 2 SCCA ProRally Championship in convincing fashion with four class wins and a total of seven podium finishes. O'Sullivan also got behind the wheel of the powerful all-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6.5 for the first time at the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and finished an impressive 3rd overall.

In 2001 O'Sullivan won the California Rally Series and had several class wins in national events in his Production GT Mitsubishi Eclipse. O'Sullivan also had the distinction of winning more U.S. rallies in 1999 than any other driver and went on to win four separate championships that year; The SCCA Northern Pacific Division, California Rally Series, SCCA Northwest Division, and the Doo Wop Series.

Today Lauchlin O'Sullivan is considered one the best American drivers in the ProRally Championship. O'Sullivan is also one of the most popular drivers in the Championship because of his fun and easygoing personality.

Getting hooked: Lauchlin O'Sullivan was first exposed to rallying at a young age when he and his family were visiting Africa and stumbled onto the 1980 Safari Rally. They were instantly hooked and upon returning to America O'Sullivan began spectating and working at U.S. rally events. Then at the age of fourteen Lauchlin began to co-drive for his father in the California Rally Series. Through high school O'Sullivan had no racing budget and so began rallying with anything he could find. "I would drive cars to the event and drive them home, even after rolling," explains O'Sullivan. "I would take a girlfriend along for the weekend, roll the car, and drive 500 miles back home with missing glass…what a catch I was!"
