Lauchlin O'Sullivan:
Q: So what do you think of your debut with
a new team and a new car?
O'Sullivan: It's so incredible and it couldn't
have gone any better, it's an incredible start
to the season.
Q: What was your strategy for the rally?
O'Sullivan: I really wanted to learn the car
and get used to having Mark as my co-driver.
I took it slow and steady but I really think
I could have pushed for 3rd. Without that flat
tire on Friday I think it would have been a
lot closer, but pushing too hard could have
cost me more, so I took it easy on Saturday.
Q: How was working with your new co-driver
Mark Williams?
O'Sullivan: It's getting there. Obviously we
are not 100% yet, but that is expected. It takes
time to really learn the timing. This event
was especially hard because the calls had to
come very early in order to properly prepare
for the fast approaching slippery corners. But
overall it went great and we were getting more
and more used to each other with each mile.
Q: Obviously the Lancer Evolutions performed
well today, what are your thoughts about the
car now that you have completed an event with
it?
O'Sullivan: The cars are great, they are so
strong and I can't believe how reliable they
were today. Their toughness right out of the
box is a testament to the strength of the Lancer
Evolution road car. It was their first event
and we had only a very small amount of testing
time but the cars didn't even have one small
problem. I can't wait for a gravel rally because
here in the snow we couldn't really use all
the power and speed that these cars have. The
Rim of the World ProRally in May should be very
interesting!
Mark Williams:
Q: What were your expectations or goals for
this event?
Mark Williams: Well we totally exceeded our
goals. To be honest Lauchlin and I were hoping
for a top ten finish and getting 4th overall
is very satisfying. Even better is the fact
that we were the top Americans in the event.
Q: What are your goals for the season?
Mark Williams: Our goal for this season is
to be the top USA driver/co-driver team at every
rally and to fight for as many podium spots
as possible. We want to stay consistent and
finish each rally to gain as much experience
as possible, but we will of course push for
a victory where possible.
David Higgins:
Q: What is it like to drive for Team Mitsubishi
Motor Sports America?
David Higgins: Driving for Mitsubishi is a
dream come true for me. They have such a dominant
history in rallying and it feels very special
to be a part of that continuing success in the
sport. And wearing red feels great!
Q: What did you think of this year's Sno*Drift
ProRally?
David Higgins: These were by far the worst
conditions I have ever rallied in, one second
there is grip and the next none at all, this
is they type of rally you have nightmares about.
But we had the right car and the right team
for this rally, I'm just so impressed with how
everything went on our debut event.
